Accessibility Statement

AuditXL is committed to making its services accessible to all users. We aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and selected AAA criteria.

AuditXL aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and beyond, Israeli Standard 5568, and Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law

In line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (5758-1998) and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013. Accessibility is under continuous improvement.

Accessibility Status

AuditXL operates in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (5758-1998), the Service Accessibility Regulations (5773-2013), and Israeli Standard 5568. We aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and several AAA criteria.

In addition, the floating accessibility tool (♿ at the bottom of the page) provides full real-time control over personal accessibility settings.

Existing Accessibility Features

  • Full keyboard navigation: The entire interface is operable by keyboard alone, including focus trap inside modal dialogs
  • Personal accessibility tool: Floating accessibility widget with 16+ controls across 5 categories: ready-made profiles (vision, dyslexia, motor, cognitive), display (font size, readable font, letter spacing, line height), color (high contrast, grayscale, low saturation), navigation (reduced motion, paused animations, highlight links, underline, large cursor), tools (reading guide, page structure, text-to-speech)
  • Live regions: State changes are announced to screen readers via aria-live="polite"
  • Alternative text: All functional images include descriptive alt text
  • Color contrast: Contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 (AA). High contrast mode reaches 7:1 (AAA)
  • Screen reader support: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver — including full role, aria-label, aria-describedby
  • Text resizing: Supports zoom up to 200% with no loss of content
  • Form labels: All forms include explicit labels and aria-describedby for complex fields
  • Error messages: Clear error messages with role=alert
  • Skip link: A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page
  • Full ARIA: role, aria-expanded, aria-controls, aria-modal, aria-pressed, aria-checked on every interactive component
  • Focus trap: In dialogs and panels — Tab and Shift+Tab cycle within the dialog
  • Focus return: Closing a panel/dialog returns focus to the element that opened it
  • Dyslexia-friendly font: Readable-font mode (Heebo Medium + improved spacing) tuned for Hebrew speakers
  • Letter spacing control: 3 spacing levels: normal, wide, very wide — for improved readability
  • Line height control: 3 levels: normal, relaxed, very loose — to reduce visual load
  • Low color saturation: Reduced color saturation for visual comfort
  • Large cursor: 48-pixel mouse cursor for better visibility
  • Reading guide: A horizontal line that follows the cursor — helps track lines in long text
  • Page structure: Interactive navigation through the page's headings and landmarks
  • Text-to-speech: Select text to hear it read aloud via the Web Speech API (Hebrew supported)
  • Pause animations: Full halt of all animations, transitions, and motion
  • Accessibility profiles: 4 ready-made profiles: vision, dyslexia, motor, cognitive — one click
  • System preference detection: Automatic respect for prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-contrast system settings
  • Settings persistence: All settings are saved to localStorage and persist across pages and browsers

WCAG 2.1 AA and AAA — what is achieved

WCAG 2.1 is defined at three levels: A (basic), AA (legal minimum standard), AAA (advanced). AuditXL targets full AA and selected AAA criteria:

✓ AA achieved (1.4.3, 1.4.4, 1.4.12, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.3.1, 2.4.x, 3.3.x)

4.5:1 contrast, text resize, text spacing (1.4.12), keyboard navigation, animation control (2.3.1), labels, error descriptions, page titles, link purpose, visible focus.

◑ AAA partially achieved (1.4.6, 1.4.8, 2.1.3, 2.4.9, 2.4.10)

7:1 contrast (in high-contrast mode), visual presentation (1.4.8 — line height, letter spacing, readable font), keyboard navigation no exception, link purpose from text alone, section headings (2.4.10).

Israeli Law — Standard 5568 and Amendment 13

AuditXL operates in accordance with the following requirements:

  • Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998: Mandatory accessibility of online services
  • Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013: Specific requirements for website accessibility
  • Israeli Standard 5568: Based on WCAG 2.1 Level AA
  • Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law, 5784-2023: Enhanced privacy protection, including accessibility of personal information

The right to access personal information (view, correct, delete) is detailed in our Privacy Policy.

What's Still in Progress

Areas still under development:

  • Charts and graphs — include basic alt text; detailed descriptions and alternative data tables are in progress.
  • Auto-generated PDFs — full PDF accessibility is in progress.
  • Sign language — not currently available; planned for a future version.
  • Plain-language version — planned for AAA criterion 3.1.5.
  • Third-party content (Clerk, Stripe) — subject to vendor accessibility only.
